ABOUT US
WHAT WE BELIEVE
The United Methodist Church is a global denomination that opens hearts, opens minds and opens doors through active engagement with our world. The mission of The United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
John Wesley and the early Methodists placed primary emphasis on Christian living, on putting faith and love into action. This emphasis on what Wesley referred to as "practical divinity" has continued to be a hallmark of United Methodism today.

MISSION AND VISION
The mission of our church is to show by word and action the love of Jesus Christ to the world.
Our vision is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world by living our faith and teaching others.

HISTORY
The original church was built in 1888 on the corners of Kearney and 4th Streets. Our present building was erected in 1910 at the current location of 420 S. Jefferson. St. Some modifications have been made; however, it maintains most of the original character of the 1910 church. First UMC continues to be an active member of the Northwest TX Annual Conference. We have an active youth program, Sunday school classes, Bible study, and hosts the only food bank for Donley County.
